For ease of reference, please find below the 'Terms and Conditions' included on the membership form and therefore agreed to by all members.
Outdoor activities, including hill walking, cycling, mountaineering and climbing are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Members and prospective members attending events shall be aware of, and accept these risks, and agree to be responsible for their own actions, involvement and raising any concerns or questions.
· Those members perceived as in charge are not necessarily qualified, do not need to be qualified and are not regarded by the club nor themselves as ‘technical experts’.
· Under 18’s are to be accompanied by a parent/guardian on any East Cheshire Outdoor Group event.
· We occasionally use member’s photographs taken on East Cheshire Outdoor Group events for publicity online or on paper. If you would prefer not to appear in such material you can opt out by contacting one of the committee members.
Declarations
· I do not object to the information on this form being held digitally by the club, and am willing to have my contact details circulated to members and used to promote and support the activity of the club. I consent to my name, address, telephone number and email address being stored on computer, and passed on to the British Mountaineering Council.
· I understand that my membership fee includes club membership to the British Mountaineering Council. If I wish to upgrade to Individual BMC Membership I am responsible for paying the additional fee to the BMC.
· I agree that, as a club member or prospective member, I will participate in club activities in a manner consistent with the club's code of conduct, conscious both of my own safety and of the impact of my conduct on the safety of others, and hold in mind my individual duty of care to all in my company. I also agree to notify one of the committee members should I become aware of any injury requiring hospital treatment or any damage to property on an ECOG event as soon as is practicably possible.
