ECOG - East Cheshire Outdoor Group
East Cheshire Outdoor Group was formed in 1982 to bring together like-minded people who enjoy the outdoors, hill walking, cycling, camping and other outdoor activities, weekends away and socialising.
Activities
We have a varied programme of outdoor events focussed around walking and cycling, but also including canoeing, rock climbing and mountaineering. We go to the theatre, cinema as well as out for meals and pubs. Usually one weekend a month we'll be away in some part of the UK either camping or hostelling. Have a look at our current programme or the events calendar. We always welcome new faces so come along to any of our events!
Come on in
After you have wandered round our programme maybe join us in person - just phone the event contact. Check out the programme's 'What to bring' section if you are new to walking. The 'Grades' section on the programme will give you an idea of the length of a walk but if you are at all unsure just phone for a chat.

**CHANGE OF VENUE FOR NEW YEAR**
Following some confusion by the owners of Halton Gill bunk barn we are having to change the venue for this year's New Year 'weekend'. Whilst I am sorry for anyone who was looking forward to visiting the Yorkshire Dales, the good news is that we have managed to get a very good alternative venue for the same price (thanks for your help Sue). Our new venue is 'Plas Amherst' in Harlech, North Wales: http://www.harlech-group-accommodation.com/index.php/en/plas-amherst.html
For those that don't know, Harlech is on the Welsh coast, at the foot of the Rhinog mountains. It is a wonderful area for walking and one that we don't visit as ...
